About CSPI
The Center for Science in the Public Interest is your food and health watchdog.
Our vision: CSPI envisions thriving communities supported by equitable, sustainable, and science-based solutions advancing nutrition, food safety, and health.
Founded in 1971, the Center for Science in the Public Interest advocates for evidence-based and community-informed policies on nutrition, food safety and health; holds government agencies and corporations to account; and empowers consumers with independent, unbiased information to live healthier lives.

History
CSPI was founded in 1971. For over 50 years, we've held industry and government accountable to the public health and advocated for a safer, healthier food system.

Accountability
CSPI is powered by donations and by subscriptions to our magazine, Nutrition Action, and we accept no funding from corporations or government agencies. In the interest of transparency, we make our annual report and financial statements available to the public.

Diversity, equity and inclusion
CSPI is committed to including and valuing diverse voices and fostering a culture that ensures all staff feel a sense of belonging and are encouraged to be their best selves.
