So What's the Big Deal?

Beer ads bombard kids with the idea that beer and baseball go hand in hand.

Alcohol is the drug of choice among youth.

Ads for alcohol encourage young people to drink.

The Washington Nationals say they want the new stadium to be family-friendly.

The new stadium is owned by the people of Washington D.C. Is it appropriate for city funds to promote alcohol to underage fans?

The Campaign for a Family-Friendly Nationals Stadium encourages the Washington Nationals Major League Baseball team to forego advertising alcoholic beverages on the field and scoreboard of their new stadium (scheduled to open in April 2008.) We are a partnership of community organizations, locally prominent educators, pediatricians, youth substance abuse specialists, and faith-based activists in the Capital region.
