The Center for Science in the Public Interest’s resource library is the place to find primary source material such as fact sheets, legal and regulatory filings, letters to agencies, infographics, and other documents.
The candy on the left is sold in Europe, where Mars and other candy companies have reformulated their products with mostly natural dyes to look almost like the synthetically-dyed originals. Europe requires health warnings on most candy with synthetic dyes. (Blue 1 is not included in the warning, so the blue candies on the left are the only ones in the picture that are not naturally dyed.)
The candy on the right is a M&M’s peanut candy with colors from all-natural sources, a new product being made available in the United States.
