Clay is a policy associate at CSPI, advocating for better rules and practices around companies marketing food to kids. He has a law degree from NYU School of Law, and has practiced in California, Washington, and Alaska.

Prior experience

Before CSPI, Clay founded an organization that helped historically underserved farmers and food buyers advocate for themselves in the legislative and regulatory process, and before that, he represented low-income Alaskans in economic justice cases as a legal aid attorney. In his previous, pre-Alaskan life, he advised companies on Federal Trade Commission Act compliance at Fenwick & West in San Francisco. Outside of CSPI, Clay is fishing, hunting, skiing, and swimming with his wife and son in and around their home community of Fairbanks, Alaska.
