CSPI comments to FDA on advice re: mercury, fish for pregnant woman
The Center for Science in the Public Interest filed comments with the Food and Drug Administration about its advisory on “Advice About Eating Fish: For Women Who Are or Might Become Pregnant, Breastfeeding Mothers, and Young Children.” CSPI's comments include a seafood chart with its own recommendations for how to communicate mercury (and omega-3) content to consumers. CSPI also called on the FDA to revise the advisory and action levels for mercury to reflect current science, and to develop materials for cultural groups that consume high levels of higher-mercury fish.
