Sesame Allergy Labeling Quick Facts

An estimated 650,000 to 900,000 people in the United States live with sesame allergy, and accidental exposure to sesame for some poses potentially deadly risks. Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), along with allergy experts, members of Congress, and concerned citizens, are urging the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to require that sesame be clearly declared in foods in the same manner as other major allergens.
